Check-Out Time
Our resort charges by the day with check-out time being at noon. Overnight guests checking out after 12:00pm will be charged another day’s rate. The check-in date will be charged as a full day regardless of the check-in time because we are reserving the accommodations for the entire day and the pet will be here overnight. Check-out times may vary on and around holidays. Boarding rates do apply on holidays and/or on days we are not open to the public. Please note our holiday hours.
Boarding Deposit Policy
We require a deposit per pet for all boarding stays.
- If your pet(s) is booked in a standard accommodation, a $50 deposit plus $25 per each additional dog is required.

Reservations of 2 or More Weeks Policy
A $300 deposit is required for reservations of 2 weeks or more, due at the time of check-in.
Vaccine & Flea Policies
We highly recommend pets receiving vaccine updates for their stay, be performed a minimum of seven (7) days prior to check in to provide optimum coverage. Our resort guests are required to be up-to-date on their vaccines (DHPP, Rabies, 6-month Intranasal Bordetella, and stool check for dogs; FVRCP and Rabies for cats) for any day or overnight stay in the resort. If your pet is due for any of their vaccines, they will be examined and vaccinated by our veterinarian at an additional cost.
Vaccine records can be faxed to us prior to your pet’s visit if these have been updated elsewhere. All of our boarding friends must have tested negative on a fecal test performed within one year of the participation date of that service. They must also be current on heartworm and flea preventative. Heartworm testing is required annually for all dogs participating in social activities. If fleas are found, then treatment will be administered at an additional cost to you. Please tell us the last date of flea preventative application at check-in.
Contagious Illness Disclaimer
We are honored that you have chosen to entrust your pet's care to us. We encourage you to contact us if your pet is displaying any signs of discomfort or unusual behaviors after their stay with us at The Ranch.
We ask that you agree and understand that even well vaccinated pets may become sick after boarding or travelling. Like the common cold in people, there are many different bacteria and viruses that can cause upper respiratory infections. It is actually the exposure to multiple strains at once that can lead to acute infection which cannot be vaccinated against. Research has shown that dogs vaccinated with intranasal bordetella, a vaccine that vaccinates against multiple disease causing agents (Bordetella, Adenovirus, and Parainfluenza), are much less likely to succumb to upper airway diseases, and if they do, the infection will be milder.
Intact Male Policies
We ask that you understand that intact males tend to excessively groom their private areas, especially when not in their home environment and can lead to irritation and inflammation of the scrotal area. Carolina Ranch encourages clients to reach out if their dog experiences these symptoms. In an effort to reduce this risk we:
- Limit the use of disinfectant in sleeping quarters
- Provide an elevated cot
- Recommend medicated drying powder (Gold Bond) be applied daily at $2.25 per application
Own Food Policy
Owner food MUST be individually packaged per pet per meal per day. A $10.50 bagging fee per pet will be assessed for owner food not individually packaged per meal per day per dog.
Prescription Medication Policy
Prescribed medications MUST be clearly labeled and in the original prescription containers with the prescribing veterinarian's name, name of medication, and current dosage.
Over-The-Counter Medication Policy
Over-the-counter medication can be added to owner provided food bags and given at no additional charge. Owner food bags must be labeled with the name of the over-the-counter medication or supplement. Charges will be incurred if feeding resort food.
Belongings and Bedding Policy
All belongings MUST be labeled. Beds are accepted when staying in suites or cabins. Small blankets or fleeces no large than 5' x 5' are allowed. Please limit the number of toys brought to two per pet.
Boarding Accommodation, Handling/Liability, & Medical Fees
Please note that additional medical care fees may be incurred for certain medical conditions. These conditions include (but are not limited to) recent surgery, bandages, brace care (leg brace, help 'em up harness, etc), diabetics, bladder expression, wheelchair, and complicated medical cases.
Pets with special accommodation needs and/or behavioral temperament issues may incur additional fees.
Medical and Emergency Care Policies
In the event your pet needs medical attention (this may include, but not limited to, symptoms such as inappetence for more than 1 day, vomiting and or diarrhea) while staying with us, the veterinarians will perform the necessary treatment to protect the health and comfort of your pet. We will call the emergency number provided to inform you and discuss further treatment options as soon as your pet is in stable condition. A veterinarian will always provide basic treatments to stabilize your pet regardless if we are able to reach you. If you are unreachable, a decision will be made on appropriate treatment at the discretion of the veterinarian. Any costs involved in these procedures are your responsibility at check-out.
