Dr. Beth Bauer graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in May 1995. Since graduation, she has lived in North Carolina and has been in the Raleigh area since 1998. She moved to the Greater Cleveland Community area in 2002. Dr. Bauer enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine but her focus is on reproduction, sports medicine, behavior and surgery. She has spent time developing a relationship and studying with the reproduction specialists at NC State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. Also, Dr. Bauer is certified to perform PennHIP (University of Pennsylvania’s Hip Improvement Program) which is a hip screening procedure that can identify dogs who are susceptible to developing hip dysplasia.
Outside of practice, Dr. Bauer enjoys time with her husband, Peter, and their son, Matthew. They have many pets including Dalmatians Lucy and Waco, cat Annie and horse Silas. Dr. Bauer began showing Dalmatians in Junior Showmanship and obedience while still in high school and continues to this day, often joined by her mother and her son. They dedicate many weekends to training and showing their dogs, primarily in conformation and agility. She has also served as the veterinarian in multiple Road Trials – an endurance activity in which owners accompany their Dalmatians on horseback for 12 – 25 mile rides. Dr. Bauer has been an active member in the Dalmatian Club of America, the Dalmatian Club of the Piedmont and the Central Carolina Dalmatian Club, and she is currently the Chairman of the Dalmatian Club of America’s Orthopedic Study group.
